Let's Be Serious For A Moment...
I was just reading through my favorite blogs, and Yobeeone has a very scary video on her site that makes you really think. If you get the chance, I think you should watch it. It's an eye-opener. You can find it at Fairy Odd World

Yes, the video was disturbing, but not all Muslims are crazy fanatics. Not my doctor, not the owner of the shish-kabob shop, not my brother-in-law. One of my sisters is married to a Palestinian. He can no longer visit his family, who live in Israeli-occupied territory, on a farm they have owned for generations. This is his life today: he works as a counsellor in a sheltered workshop and kayaks on Lake Erie on weekends. Another joy in his life is his little grand-daughter. He loves Christmas. Some of the 9/11 terrorists were here in Laurel. They worked out at Gold's Gym and they stayed at the Valencia Motel and wired money from the very supermarket where we shop.
Forsythia, I agree. Not all Muslims are crazy. But why does it say things in the koran about hurting others if they don't follow thier religion?
Holly, I don't have an answer to that question, but I have seen verses in the Old Testament that express the same opinion of idol worshippers and the enemies of Israel. For instance, I love Psalm 137, which expresses the Israelites' sadness about being exiled in a strange land and their longing for Jerusalem. However, I'm none too happy with Verse 9: "Happy shall they be who take your (the Babylonians') little ones and dash them against the rock!" Whoa!
My guess is that all religions struggle with the question of what the "true believers" should do about the doubters, questioners, and nay-sayers.
